Figurative charcoal and oil from the studio of Taylor Lowe.
The moment before the miracle.
Taylor Lowe’s work moves between sacred narrative, family portraiture, and the living world of the Southern backyard. Built in charcoal and oil on canvas, each piece is composed with the discipline of structure and the feeling of witness.
The drawings are not simply depictions. They are moments held at their breaking point — the instant before resurrection, impact, memory, arrival, or disappearance.
Many works are created at large scale, including 24 × 36 and 30 × 40 inch canvases, allowing the subject to carry the weight and presence of an original object.
